Feb
I am realizing that February is just not my favorite month.
It is cold.
There are few breaks at school, and Spring Break seems distant.
There's pressure to figure out whether I should stay at the same school or pursue something else.
The other choices seem limited.
There's the hype of Valentine's Day.
And I tend to just feel down.
I remember feeling this way last year...and the year before.
How long, O Lord?
Last night a friend said something that I had never thought about before. This side of Heaven is the only chance we have to glorify and praise God in the midst of pain, suffering, loneliness, unmet desires, disappointment, and heartache.
Colossians 3:15-16 says:
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Lord, may I be able to lift my eyes to You and worship You, the Good Father and Maker, Comforter and Friend. I admit that I am impatient, and I don't like the tension. Please help me to lean into You, thanking You and praising You.
