My Heart is Full

My heart is the fullest it has been in a long time. And I am so grateful. So I will write to remember what He has done. Soli Deo gloria.
  • The whole weekend in California was so joyful! I talked to two fun people on the plane ride there and back. It's always fun to get to know people, and it made the flights go by faster. I enjoyed being with Megan and her family and friends, preparing and then celebrating with them as they begin life together. I'm so grateful that her sister and I could be buddies, as it seemed like we were the only single ones there. I'm grateful for time spent helping with Sue Ann. I'm grateful for the heart conversations with her dad and grandfather. I cried during the ceremony as they read Psalm 130...Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins. Waiting continues to be the life theme right now, and I want to do it well. I was surprised, because these aren't typical wedding verses, so I treasured them as a gift from the Lord, sweet words spoken to me, encouraging me to keep actively and patiently waiting on the Lord. All the dancing, speaking Spanish, playing with the kids, taking Polaroid pics, eating tri-tip for the first time, experiencing the really nice port-a-potty, and sneaking ice cream (and more!) were all so fun!
  • I randomly ran into Mer in the parking lot, and we got to chat for just a bit. I treasured the fun surprise.
  • I got to brainstorm and talk through some possible options for future vocations.
  • I stopped by Nana's for an unplanned visit. I got to hang out with Nana, my mom, and Aunt Kay all at the same time.
  • I got to speak truth and offer some vision for a friend trying to discern some things.
  • I went for a run yesterday afternoon, but I kept stopping to enjoy the beautiful signs of spring and new life in the colorful flowers. I am wanting to really be in the moment more (being and dwelling in the dot instead of looking behind or ahead on the timeline) so I stopped and took a picture of all the variety and colors I saw.
  • Yesterday my mom and I rearranged the house and setup to host an Easter lunch today. The prep and time today was oh so joyful! It truly felt like a glimpse of what I think heaven will be like...beautiful people with different stories, different languages, different walks of life but conversation, laughter, and unity in breaking bread and celebrating the risen Christ.
